H.I.H. the Prince Vladimir A. Gorshkov-Cantacuzene, titular Basileus of the Romans and All Ecumene was born in Moscow in 1995. According to Greek tradition, the birthday of the Head of the Dynasty is not celebrated or indicated; instead of it, the Saint's day of His Imperial Highness is celebrated, which falls on 4'th June (the day of remembrance of the holy Tsar-Martyr John-Vladimir of Serbia).
He is a graduate of the Lomonosov' Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technologies (B.S. in chemical engineering), Bogomolets National Medical University (MD), Moscow Pedagogical State University (M.S. in neurobiology) and the State Research Center for Applied Biotechnology & Microbiology (Obolensk; bacteriologist with the right to laboratory diagnostics of causative agents of especially dangerous infections). Studied at the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, ITMO University, WIPO Academy, Federal Institute of Industrial Property, Kashkin' Research Institute of Medical Mycology in various disciplines of the humanities and natural sciences.
As part of his public and human rights activities, he signed the Academics For Academic Freedom International Petition. The signature is listed under No.653.
For scientific research in 2017 he received the highest honor of the state of Kentucky - the title of Kentucky Colonel. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Greek Atherosclerotic Society, the "Sigma Xi" Honor Society, the World Association of Medical Editors.
On July 25, 2018, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation was awarded the badge "Honorary Blood Donor of Russia" for his noble contribution to the development of voluntary and gratuitous donation by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. By the time of the award, His Imperial Highness had made over 50 gratuitous donations of blood and its components.
He is a lifelong member of the Central Cathedral Building Society of 1842 (Zentral-Dombauverein zu Köln von 1842) and Friends of Hadhramaut
In 2018-2020 associate member of the World Medical Association (WMA).
In 2020, during the COVID19 pandemic, he works as a volunteer-physician at the COVID-Hospital.
